Our society trip to Winchester and Beaulieu – Saturday June 25th 2016. We left Hollow Rd, Kingswood ,Bristol at 8.15 am arriving in Winchester at 10am Members then had three hours to look at the town , visit the Cathedral and various Museums that Winchester is known for. A new heritage board with highlights of Kingswood’s history was officially unveiled in the park on January 9th 2016 by the Chair of South Glos Council, Councillor Erica Williams. The Kingswood History Society installed the Board with the help of the Friends of Kingswood Park, Sovereign Housing, the Southwest Foundation and South Glos. Council. Our thanks go to each of them. Our trip to Anglesey from March 31st to April 2nd 2015 was enjoyed by twenty two members sharing a coach with another group. We had two steam train rides booked first on the Blaenau Ffestiniog from Porthmadog, followed by a trip on the Welsh Highland Railway from Caernarfon to Porthmadog, with a day in between for sightseeing . On Saturday 5th July 2014 42 members and friends enjoyed their annual outing to the Milestones Museum on the outskirts of Basingstoke, Hampshire. We arrived at 11am and were not disappointed with what we found, a very well laid out and interesting museum.
