Kingswood History Society AGM 3rd December 2024
Chairman opened the meeting at 7.30pm welcoming all attending members.
Apologies: None
Minutes of the previous AGM were reviewed. Keith required his name to be corrected to Nikless. There were no others matters arising. Proposed & Seconded
Chairman’s Report was read. This included Ray standing down but would like to still be involved as appropriate. Finalising details for a grant next year. No matters arising. Proposed & Seconded
Secretaries Report was read. Mainly thanking for help in particular to Cecile for many years on teas. Membership and Visitors down, welcome any ideas to boost numbers. Approx 50% attendees use website. No matters arising. Proposed & Seconded
Treasurers Report was read. Current account stands at £2429.98 down £564.22 from last year, one off website subscription and trip was main reason and expected. No matters arising. Proposed & Seconded
Election of new Chairman: Nic Slade; Proposed: Ray Parker, Seconded Mary Charles.
Election of new Vice Chairman: Tony Redmore; Proposed Ray Parker, Seconded Sue Stanley
Election of current Secretary & Treasurer: Proposed Ray Parker, Seconded Sue Stanley
No one came forward to take over from Cecile therefore will need to be on a rota.
Election of Event Organiser: Sue Stanley; Proposed Kevern, Seconded Mary
Remaining election of committee on mass.
AOB: Greggs charity; Jon to follow up.
Charles Rogers happy to carry out leaflet distribution.
Alan Britton raised issue relating to the heritage of mining in Kingswood e.g. Cock Road, Mr Wilmott. Not listed by council and not interested. Refer to museum?
Film Group at Park Centre; membership is low.
Xmas fair at Park Centre 7th Dec.
