Society Outing To Hestercombe Gardens – Saturday 21st July 2018
We left Kingswood Park at 9.15am to journey to Hestercombe Gardens near Taunton Somerset. It was the first day of the school holidays and the M4 was very busy, so we decided to head for the A38, this was a good decision as it turned out to be quite free running, reaching our destination around 11.35am.
There was not a lot to see in the house, but the gardens even though we have had no rain were not in too bad a condition, well worth the visit. I believe that the majority of our membership thought the food was, although very good quality, very expensive. Altogether not a bad visit, we held a raffle in the car park and arrived home at 6.30pm.
The Kingswood History Society would like to thank Quartet Community Foundation for allowing us to enjoy the beautiful gardens at Hestercombe House.
